Sustainable Sewage Treatment Using Waste Stabilization Pond Technology
The Garulia Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), executed by Navita Nirman Limited, is a key government initiative aimed at promoting sustainable and eco-friendly sewage management in Garulia, West Bengal. The project employs Waste Stabilization Pond (WSP) technology, a natural treatment process that relies on sunlight, gravity, and microbial activity to treat domestic wastewater effectively.
Designed for low energy usage and minimal operational maintenance, the WSP system includes a series of anaerobic, facultative, and maturation ponds that progressively break down organic waste. This method not only provides reliable treatment but also helps protect local water bodies from contamination.
Key Highlights:
Environmentally friendly sewage treatment using WSP technology
Ideal for semi-urban and low-density regions with available land
Low operational cost and energy-efficient performance
Enhances sanitation, water quality, and public health in the region
Designed and constructed in line with CPCB and state guidelines
By implementing the Garulia WSP project, Navita Nirman Limited continues its commitment to building infrastructure that balances functionality, sustainability, and long-term value. This project serves as a model for low-impact wastewater management solutions that align with both government objectives and environmental responsibility.
